De-stressing Your Life
De-stressing your life if you suffer with arthritis, fibromyalgia or some other arthritis related disease, is very important
Not only have scientists explored how stress may weaken the immune systems, making us susceptible to diseases, they are also discovering how to meld the body and mind with psychological techniques. Techniques, that you can easily incorporate into your daily routine to reduce the threat to your immune system and well-being.The key to reducing the stress that accompanies arthritis, fibromyalgia or other arthritis related diseases, lies in recognizing the signs and taking active steps to reduce these before the stress further injures your health and self-esteem. It is not difficult to start a stress-reduction program and incorporate it into your daily life.
Do you find that there is never enough time in the day? Setting priorities and budgeting your time each day is the first step in gaining balance in your life, thus eliminating needless stress and anxiety. You can begin to do this by making a list of all of your commitmentsfamily, work, community involvement; friendsand eliminating those commitments that are not absolutely necessary. This means not complicating your life with a list of activities and commitments that are not important.
Write down tasks that face you each day. As you schedule your day; budget ample time to get your work completed by calculating how long it will take to finish each projectthen add on an extra fifteen to thirty minutes, to allow yourself to go at a moderate speed instead of in high gear. Some people prefer to make their To DO list each morning, others find that making it the night before to be most helpful.
Schedule your day for peak efficiency if you suffer a chronic disease and need time for rest, or find that you are more productive at certain times during the day.
Always accept your limitations. A constant pursuit of perfection will only cause you stress. Try to face the reality of what you can do and what is reasonable.
Making changes in the way you face each day, taking control of your commitments, being better organized, scheduling adequate time for projects can all help you relax so that you can enjoy your life and experience a greater sense of well-being.
